The play centers around two middle-aged men. One is a brash, devil-may-care black-money maker South-Indian named Bappaji Dharsod, and the other is a timid lawyer named Babanrao Bakre who prides himself on being a self-appointed guardian of moral values.
When their contrasting worlds collide — Babanrao Bakre’s daughter and Bappaji Dharsod’s son fall in love with each other and became adamant about marrying each other — the mixture of chaos and comedy unfolds in a whirlwind of hilarious encounters. But as the laughter fades, a piercing truth emerges: it is often the lack of opportunity, rather than moral virtue, that turns us into saints.
