The story is set in Vasai and follows Kusum Abhyankar, a Marathi professor, and her husband Sharad Abhyankar, a businessman. Dr. Malik, the family doctor, treats her regularly — but every treatment fails.

Sharad then calls Ashok, a research scholar and palmist, to observe her condition. During a palm-reading session, Ashok senses that Kusum’s illness may not be physical at all — he uncovers the mysterious presence of Savita within her personality. Who is Savita?
